The Project:
The Haunted Swindon
project is a partnership projected, managed and
administrated by
Paranormal Site
Investigators.
PSI is working in
partnership with the
Borough Council,
which is offering its expertise and co-operating
over potentially haunted sites.
The project is also
contributing to the Albion Project of the
Association for
the Scientific Study of Anomalous Phenomena.
The project also has an
arrangement with the BBC website to publish findings
to its BBC Wiltshire Ghost Hunting page.
The project also works with other local, regional
and national media to promote Swindon's heritage.
The Role of Paranormal
Site Investigators:
Where the project is
contacted by potentially interested venues the
project will establish if the venue is suitable for
investigation by the PSI team.
Such investigations by
the PSI team are scientific and research-based and
reports tend to be held confidentially.
However PSI historian and online journalist
Ken Taylor
makes site histories available and produces reports
for the BBC website.
The Role of the Borough
Council:
The project is unique in
that it is the only known partnership between local
government and a paranormal research organisation.
The Borough is helping the project gain access to
its potentially haunted sites.
Cllr Tomlinson,
Swindon Borough Council Lead Member for Leisure,
Culture & Recreation said:
"We are pleased to be working in partnership with
PSI on this exciting project.
"Most people who live in Swindon are proud of our
heritage, but this is an opportunity to celebrate
that heritage. Interest in this area is at an
all-time high and I think most of know enough people
who have had experiences to know we should not rule
out this sort of enquiry."
"We will be supporting PSI with their challenge to
uncover and promote apparently haunted sites in the
town." |
